Paper Proto-typing

I think when you use paper proto-typing it helps you realize what characters you will need, and how the game will be set up in frames. It also causes you to organize the game and show you how it will look. It just gives a very good foundation because if you don't like the game you can change. If you do like it then you will have your proto-type to work off of. Its very hard at first to do a paper proto-type unless you have your game fully thought out, which most people don't. After you set and brainstorm and get a good idea then it seems as if the ideas just flow out of your mind. If your not a good artist then this a good way to try and better yourself, because you have to draw out title sequences, characters, the interactions, and the end of the game.

Imaging Your Game

Today we started writing the basis about what our game would be like. It was very stressful at first but once Chez told us we were not putting our game in stone then I was happy. It has been stressful the last couple of days. The flash is really getting to me.Its just confusing and very complicated.I know it will take time to learn but I want to get it now. Im really enjoying the fact that we get to make our own game! I learned more things about how to make text boxes and how t change font, color, and size of the box. The most exciting part about making a the game is to see the crazy stuff we can do with Flash. I really want to get a better understandong of Flas and how the layers work and the actions.

How do the heroes of Anglo-Saxons compare to the heroes of today's video game industry?

Myths and legends have always influenced the way we believe, and how we saw things. Most myths were told about a great hero who was great yet had flaws just like every other human. They were usually sons and daughters of great Gods or Goddesses who had to prove themselves. They have always been around and they always will be. They're like a piece of human history that will never disappear.
Even today myths still have great influence on our mainstream culture. Many video games have been based upon myths. Games such a God of War, and Prince of Persia are based upon myths of different cultures. They are just like some of the heroes in different myths. The heroes have the same issues such as a monster destroying a village, or someone wanting to take over the world, etc. The main difference is the heroes of todays video games may not have an actual major weakness like Achilles and his heel, or Samson and his hair. The games have the magic, all the fighting, and almost the same plot as the myths. Creatures such as fairies, and dwarfs come from the European cultures, as for dragons they come from all cultures and myths. Most fiction authors of the day derive their writings from the old myths and legends that have been told for years. Usually if their book is made into a movie it is almost definitely made into a video game.

After all the hundreds of years stories about heroes hav estill existed. Yet as old as they are they still have such a great affect on todays society. Just like they were used for entertainment then, they are used in the same way today. The heroes that are portrayed in the myths will always continue threw the ages and will never die out. They will always overcome their human instinct and defeat the monster and rescue the damsel in distress.Whether its sitting in front of a television screen pushing buttons or sitting around a campfire exchanging stories, they will live on forever.

-How does Beowulf meet the requirments of a hero?
-He is strong, brave, noble, loyalty, wants to help others, and he wants to destroy evil.

-Would Beowulf make a good character in a educational vidoe game?
-Probably not, unless you make an educational video game on fighting a demon.

-What qualities would a character in a video game need to have?
-Depending on what kind of game it is, how its set up, the plot and purpose of the game, and who created it. But most likely they would have ot be helpful, caring, brave, loyal, and have awesome powers

Quick Write for Beowulf

The hero in my life is my grandmother. She has put everything aside to try and give me everything I need. She always puts the people she loves first in my life. If it wasnt for her I would have nothing. She has faced many hardships in her life but she is one of the strongest people I know. She bought me a car, pays my insurance, and provides everything for me. She is my hero in my life and is the greatest!!
